LIGHT UP HASSOCKS

We are busy preparing an amazing Light Up Hassocks for you!

This year it's on Friday 6th December 16:00-20:00.

We're delighted to say that Quentin from Hassocks Infant School won the poster competition and will be the design we use for the 2025 poster. He will be the lucky one switching the Christmas lights on at 16:05.

The poster we are using this year was designed by last year's winner, Jack and we are loving it!

On the night we'll have fantastic music from The Stanmer Band and Jo Buckland, delicious food from our local traders as well as some new food stalls,  arts and craft, the funfair and the parade!

If money is tight this year we will have a few stalls where children can enjoy some festive fun and treats without you needing to worry about the cost. These will be free or voluntary donation.

Keymer Road will be closed from Woodsland Road to the entrance of the car park behind The Sussex Grocer (previously known as Knight’s Budgens). Additionally, Keymer Road will be closed from the western side of the mini roundabout by Station Approach East/Profiles Health & Beauty to Clerks Acre for the parade from approximately 16.15-17.15pm.

The road closure will affect bus routes and a diversion will be in place via New Road.

Access will be maintained for emergency vehicles and medical emergencies, but all other traffic will be asked to wait or diverted. Please advise any likely visitors or carers well in advance so that they can make appropriate arrangements.

If you’d like to be part of the team that makes the magic happen, we are looking for marshals for the evening itself and team members to help us next year. Please get in touch at lightuphassocks@gmail.com
