What the session will cover
The ABC of basic bike maintenance
Air – Checking tyres, removing wheel, removing tyre, refitting tyre. Puncture repair.
Brakes –Different types of brakes, testing brakes, making adjustments and repairs.
Chain – Checking tension and wear, ensure chain runs smoothly. Setting up and adjusting gears.
If time allows
What to take for a quick repair - emergency roadside repair kit, spare tubes, pumps, chain joiners and mini tools.
Riding position.
WHAT TO BRING
Your own bike (if not, bikes will be available to work on).
NEED TO KNOW
The workshop leader has an enhanced DBS* check.
*Enhanced DBS is a complete criminal history check on a person that shows if s/he is on the barred list for supervising children during leisure or other activities.
